Principal Message

I establishment of Government Degree College, Dharmanagar, aspiration and hopes of millions, is the consequence of generous & selfless effort of a large number of people of this locality. I am quite aware of the sentiment and aspirations of the people of this area in general and those associated with the institution in particular as regards the establishment of the college and its subsequent growth. I am deeply committed to honour these holistic endeavors.

The have the opinion that the role of any undergraduate college is not only pursue academic excellent but also to motivate and empower its students to be life long learners, critical thinkers, and productive members of an ever changing global society. A college must try to provide its students with an atmosphere for multifaceted development, where young ones are encouraged to channelize their potential in the pursuit of excellence. This can only be possible in a holistic, student-centric environment. The talents, skills, and abilities of each student need to be identified, nurtured, and encouraged so that he or she is able to reach greater heights. Students need to be provided with a platform to think, express, and exhibit their skills. It is necessary to empower them to negotiate several issues that confront them, with the teacher being a facilitator.

According to Amos Bronson Alcott, a reformer, teacher, and philosopher, “Observation more than books, experience more than persons, are the prime educators.”

We are thus constantly improving our teaching methodology, and all others must try to create an atmosphere where they are nourished since they are the brand ambassadors of our college.

To fulfill the aim and objective, the enthusiastic young student community need to be in the right path, the teachers of the college are performing an excellent job in carrying out right direction and making them responsible and resourceble members of the nation. I would like to see that the teachers excel not only in teaching but also in research and others pro scocity activity. Members of the teaching staff with their sincerity in teaching and dedication in research can take our institution to amazing heights.

The non-teaching staff members constitute the other pillar on which the institution stands. Nothing can be achieved unless they provide selfless and constructive support to the system. I urge them to adopt a student and faculty-friendly outlook so that we all live in a harmonic and friendly atmosphere.

Finally, having our Mind fearless and holding our head high, I am confident that our college will march ahead, and we all will be proud members of this family.
